D&G current and proposed social media marketing (Moodboards)

^ Dolce and Gabbana's current social media platforms- Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are the 3 social media platforms that Dolce and Gabbana use. Instagram is the main one they use as they post up to 3x a day and have the most social media followings (19.5m). Their Twitter and Facebook are the least interesting as they post the exact same contention both, mostly to promote their campaigns and new store openings with abit of background information, post up to once a day.  Their Instagram definitely stays true to the brands iconic aesthetic, but at the moment have been posting a lot of their photos in black and white. Their Instagram page is very 'clean- cut' promoting campaign imagery or back stage photos from their runways. Its quite boring to look at and wouldn't engage a younger audience as they photos don't interact or relate to a younger demographic.

^ Dolce and Gabbana's proposed social media platforms- As they only seem to promote their campaign photos on their social media majority of the time. I propose that they have a new marketing strategy when it comes to not only their social media but campaign shoots and even clothing. A total rebrand! My first proposal will be to create a sub-line from the brand called 'D&G' that will sell more streetwear clothes that will appeal/ wearable to a younger demographic. I've recreated the brands logo so its more edgier and urban, but also distinctive so its recognisable and easy to wear. The brands campaigns will be shot in rural/ urban parts of Italy as this will give the brands clothes a cooler and fresher take on what the clothes were like previously, but also keeping to the brands Sicilian aesthetic of the ' modern day Italian'. Using more ethnic and edgier models gives a younger appeal to audiences as its something they can relate to and want to wear, but also using established fashion bloggers (maybe Italian ones) can also boost the brands appearance by free advertisement, recognition and all round respect as a brand (using Italian bloggers keeps to the brands aesthetic also). By posting these images on their social media accounts will hopefully help draw in a more younger demographic as these photos are more relatable, gives off a more 'trendy' vibe and most importantly wearable that people will want to invest their money in.
